Using Classifi
Is Classifi easy to use?
Yes. Classifi is designed with a simple, user-friendly interface. Entities are easy to create, and once entity financials are entered, classifications and the supporting rationale can be generated using a click of a button into a one-page report.
How do we access Classifi?
Classifi is accessible via most modern web browsers using secure login credentials. The platform supports unlimited user seats, allowing organisations to onboard as many team members as needed without additional licensing costs.
How long does it take to get set up?
Classifi is designed for quick onboarding. Most firms can start using the platform within a day, with minimal setup required.
What information do I need to start a classification?
Basic entity details including name and type (ie company, trust, partnership), residency, controlling persons details including if any U.S. beneficial owners, GIIN where relevant).
Any financial statements that you would usually reference (including types of assets and/or income, and whether active and/or passive.
For most entities, you will need three years of data to successfully produce a classification for any given year. This is a requirement set by the OECD and IRS in relation to AEOI.
For example, if reporting in 2026 you will need data for 2023, 2024 & 2025 to generate classifications. Note for entities formed within the reporting period, just complete the relevant year/s within Classifi.
Do I need to classify my entities every year, and do I need to re-classify entities if they haven’t changed their activities during the reporting period?
Yes. For both FATCA & CRS, you need to classify entities for each reporting period. Accurate reporting is required by local competent authorities every year. Additionally, even if you believe an entity hasn’t undergone any significant financial changes or business activities, minor changes can have an impact on the classification.
Do I need training to use Classifi?
Not necessarily. Most users get up and running quickly, but we also provide live demonstration sessions, training for asset and income categorisation, and support to make onboarding as smooth as possible.
